All 151 URC games will be shown by Premier Sports

A new rugby season in the United Rugby Championship kicks off in just six weeks’ time and Premier Sports will once again bring rugby fans across the UK and Ireland all the action from every single game right across the competition including the Grand Final on May 27th 2023.

With the new URC season rugby action kicking on Friday 16 September 2022 and 18 thrilling 8-game rounds of rugby across five rugby nations ahead before the knock-out Final series - this will be Premier Sports fifth season broadcasting every game from the Championship.

Premier Sports will be the only place to see every URC game home and away for all 16 teams in every round throughout the season.

Fixtures, dates and kick-off times for the 2022/23 season have now been confirmed by URC and the opening rounds bring some huge clashes with a showcase opening weekend to enjoy including a huge Welsh derby opener as Scarlets face Ospreys in Llanelli (Sat Sept 17 kick off 5.15pm) live and exclusive in the UK on Premier Sports.

There’s two other derby encounters to enjoy in Round One as Ulster face Connacht at the Kingspan Stadium in an all-Irish opener (live on Premier Sports Sat 17 Sept kick off 7.35pm) plus rugby fans can tune-into the all-South African fixture in Johannesburg as Emirates Lions take on last season’s losing finalists Vodacom Bulls (Sat 17 Sept 3.05pm UK kick-off) also live on Premier Sports.

Opening night in the URC on Friday 16th September sees Benetton host Glasgow Warriors (live on Premier Sports kick off 5.30pm UK) with new Warriors Head Coach Franco Smith returning to the Italian city where he played and coached Benetton for a combination of nine years. That’s followed by Cardiff Rugby’s curtain raiser in the Welsh Capital as they welcome Munster to Cardiff Arms Park (live on Premier Sports kick off 7.35pm).

Every week, top teams from all five big rugby nations across Northern and Southern hemispheres (Italy, Ireland, Scotland, South Africa and Wales) will show a diverse mix of rugby styles, identity and cultures to battle it out for the URC crown won last season in Cape Town by DHL Stormers.

Tune-in to Premier Sports throughout the URC season as every game counts in a competition format that sees all 16 teams ranked across a single table which will reward the top eight teams with their places in the Final Eight (quarter-finals), followed by a Final Four (semi-finals) to set the stage for the Grand Final on May 27th.

In Round 2, URC Champions DHL Stormers will make their first appearance since lifting the Trophy in Cape Town as they welcome Connacht in Round 2.

Round 3 will see the top two Irish sides in Ulster and Leinster entertain the Irish fans, Ulster having won their last two games versus their provincial rivals, while SA Shield winners DHL Stormers welcome Scottish X Italian Shield winners Edinburgh Rugby.

Edinburgh Rugby, Glasgow Warriors, Leinster and Zebre Parma will host all four teams from the South in Round 4, in what is sure to be a spectacular display of North v South rugby.

Round 5 will see the Vodacom Bulls travelling to Thomond Park for the first time, to take on Munster, two iconic teams playing at an iconic stadium.

Vodacom Bulls will be heading back to Treviso for the first time since they lost to Benetton in the Rainbow Cup Final, and a thrilling Irish Derby is expected when Leinster take on Munster in Round 6.

In Round 7, it’s a clash of the Capitals as Cardiff Rugby take on Edinburgh Rugby, and an Irish derby not to be missed when Munster take on Ulster.
