Copa del Rey has a new UK home – live and exclusive on Premier Sports

  • 2020-2021 Copa del Rey season set to broadcast on Premier Sports
  • Live coverage to begin from the First Round today December 15th

Premier Sports has announced the Copa del Rey will be broadcast live and exclusively on a year two deal beginning this December. The announcement adds to the ever growing football content on Premier Sports and more added value as current customers already have access to every LaLiga game via the Premier Sports pack on Sky, Virgin and the Premier Player.

116 teams are currently remaining in the competition with two live games from the first round beginning today, December 15th. CD Marchamalo host LaLiga side Huesca with kick off at 6pm live on FreeSports while on Thursday, fourth tier Anaitasuna welcome Getafe to the 1,500 seater Campo Txerloia at 6pm live on Premier Sports 2. 

The Round of 32 will see four new entries enter the competition having participated in the Supercopa de España – Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad. 


The current holders are Valencia having beaten Barcelona 2-1 in the 2018-2019 Copa del Rey final while the 2019-2020 Copa del Rey competition is still to be determined due to the outbreak of Covid-19. The Copa del Rey has been contested a total of 117 times, Barcelona are the most successful club having won the competition thirty times and Athletic Bilbao the second most successful club with twenty three titles.
